Frequently Asked Questions
-
- It’s training for safety at heights. A Fall Protection course teaches workers how to stay safe when working above ground level using fall arresting equipment and other means to focus on preventing falls.
- It’s practical and hands-on. Beyond theory, expect real-world scenarios where you practice using gear or identifying hazards, making it easier to apply what you’ve learned on the job.
-
- Anyone working at heights. If your job involves ladders, scaffolds, or rooftops—think construction workers, roofers, or maintenance crews—this course is a must.
- Employers often require it. Companies want to avoid accidents and lawsuits, so they’ll send employees to get certified, especially if OSHA regulations apply to their industry. Please see our OSHA focused Fall Protection course if you are in the USA.
- It’s not just for pros. Even DIY enthusiasts tackling big home projects might take it voluntarily to understand risks and protect themselves when working high up.
-
- Our Fall Protection course is 3 hours long approximately but can be started and stopped to allow you the flexibility needed in your busy schedule.
-
- How to spot fall risks. You’ll be trained to identify hazards like uneven surfaces or weak anchor points before they turn into accidents.
- Gear usage is a big focus. The course dives into choosing, inspecting, and wearing personal protective equipment like harnesses properly—because a poorly fitted harness won’t save you. Shock absorbers are examined as well.
- Rescue plans are included too. Beyond prevention, you’ll learn what to do if someone falls, including how to act fast to avoid suspension trauma, which can be deadly if ignored.
-
- Falls are a leading cause of workplace injuries. Statistics show falls from heights are among the top reasons for serious injuries or deaths on job sites, so this training can literally save lives.
- It boosts worker confidence and efficiency. When you know how to stay safe, you can focus on your task without worrying about slipping or falling, which makes you better at your job.
- Employers avoid penalties and lawsuits. Companies that skip this training risk fines from safety regulators or legal trouble if an accident happens, so it’s a smart investment for everyone involved.
- It teaches you to spot hazards. Beyond just using gear, the course trains you to recognize risky situations—like an unstable scaffold—and take action before something goes wrong.
